Our Pastor

Gerald Cook

Gerald Cook is a bivocational pastor, outdoorsman, and founder of Faith & Field—a ministry and gundog training initiative rooted in biblical discipleship and the beauty of God’s creation. He holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse and a Graduate Certificate in Christian Ministry from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he is also pursuing a master’s degree in Church Revitalization.

Gerald has a passion for developing men in their calling and character. He served as Men’s Ministry Coordinator at Brentwood Baptist Church, where he launched and led the popular Sportsmen’s Group, organized impactful men’s events, and helped shape future leaders through the Men In Training program. His heart for spiritual formation now extends into Faith & Field, where he combines leadership development and certified Christian coaching with outdoor experiences and gundog training—connecting biblical truths to the disciplines of the field.

With a background in healthcare leadership, Gerald also holds a Graduate Certificate in Advanced Pharmaceutical Communication from the University of Chicago and has held executive roles with companies like Eli Lilly, Boehringer Ingelheim, and Terumo Blood & Cell Technologies.

An avid sportsman, Gerald enjoys hunting ducks, geese, pheasant, quail, and grouse. He breeds and trains his own line of imported Irish Labradors, using them not only for upland and waterfowl pursuits but also as object lessons in obedience, trust, and devotion—core principles of the Dog Devotionals featured in Faith & Field.

Family is central to Gerald’s life. He and his wife, Tami, have two children: Austin and his wife, Anna Beth, now live in West Tennessee with their son, Graham Scott—Gerald’s beloved grandson. Their daughter Angela is married to Jacob Crawford, and they live in Chapel Hill, TN. Gerald’s family continues to be his greatest source of strength, joy, and motivation.
